Champs Win Kickball Tournament

- Sophomore Micah Frank dons his green shirt for the Dragonflies team in preparation for the tournament. “I think we have pretty good chances,” Frank said. The Dragonflies would go on the be swept, losing every game they played in.
- Junior Jake Frankenfield tosses a ball to warm up before the tournament. His team, Wasted Potential, would be eliminated early in the tournament.
- Social studies teacher Andrew Rudolph tags third base in the Champs opening game against the Grats. “We’ll see if any other teams show up,” Rudolph said before the game. “But I’m not impressed.” The Champs would take the game 6-3, largely due to fielding errors by the Grats.
- Facilitator’s Director Art Nieto walks off the field after getting out in the game versus the sophomore team UmiZoomi. During play, Nieto kicked long balls to the outfield to delay defensive plays.
- Basketball coach Russel Vincent pegs sophomore Parker Cohen during a controversy play because Cohen was hit in the head with the ball. However, he was ruled out by referees, helping the Champs win the game.
- Sophomore Nadia Jansen rounds third base, heading home for her team UmiZoomi during a match versus the teacher team, the Champs. UmiZoomi lost to the Champs 7-8.
- The Champs put up a number one after sweeping the bracket. “It feels great to be repeat champs. The last two teams were tough, but we pulled through," said Nieto.
- After a close final game of 3-2 the Champs and Evan’s Workmen line up to shake hands. The teachers took the tournament for the second consecutive year.
