Hi, I’m Noah Sentnor, and I’m a senior. This is my second year on the Norsestar staff. I play baseball for North in the spring and have always loved writing. I enjoy getting to learn about what is happening in our community through the articles I write. I’m looking forward to seeing what this year brings.

Four athletes represented North High at the State swim meet on Feb. 17 and 18. Orr said the atmosphere was electric. “State is intense. Before each event, the athletes walk out of the locker room and all their names are announced. Then, it gets dead silent for the start, but as soon as the horn goes off, it gets super loud every time without fail,” said Orr.

With the bus driver shortage, North is not able to offer an activity bus at 4:30 p.m. Yet, MSHSAA and the state of Missouri require a 5:30 p.m. athletics bus to ensure that each student has equal opportunities to participate in sports.

While the North swim team practices for their Sept. 14 meet, the swimmers are usually at least four feet away from each other. Once in the pool, there is very little danger of the virus spreading from person to person. A virus needs a host to live on, and with the chlorine killing most possible hosts to the virus, it will simply die in the pool.
