Steve Savard, NFL lineman and award-winning announcer, class of 1982 Steve Savard was an NFL lineman for the Dallas Cowboys. In his retirement, Savard has remained successful as the voice for the St. Louis Rams from 1999-2015. Now, he is a newscaster for CBS. In the span of his career, he has won six Emmy awards, including the award for best sportscaster.
