NHS, Students Give Back With Blood Drive
On March 1 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Parkway North’s National Honors Society ran their blood drive for the second time this school year. The blood is collected by the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC), a nonprofit organization which provides blood products and services to 88 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin. “Blood is medicine, and it also expires,” said NHS sponsor Scott Nilsen. “If we don’t have constant supplies of new blood, then people who need it won’t be able to have it,”

"being a basketball coach, I think basketball's probably one of my least favorite [activities]...
